Our Corporate social responsibility

Over time, society’s expectations of businesses as responsible social institutions have increased and evolved. The idea that business has some social responsibility is not new, but corporate social responsibility (CSR) has drawn increased attention in the past decade, partially as a result of corporate scandals arising from a misalignment between industry’s judgment regarding its responsibilities and the concomitant judgment of society. Another factor explaining increased attention to CSR is the advent of globalization, a phenomenon that connects global corporations with local communities across the globe, with notable social implications.

As Greening Uganda, Greening Forestry Services and Green Connect, our Corporate Social Responsibility evolves around :-

Social issues

  • Encourage public scrutiny of environmental and land management practices.
  • Invest in surrounding communities.
  • Promote responsible consumption among consumers.
  • Stem declining employment in the sector
  • Engage with surrounding communities
  • Improve industry’s public image

Environment issues

  • Promote sustainable forestry practices.
  • Increase the use of renewable resources.
  • Adopt environmentally sound purchasing policies.
  • Mitigate global warming.
  • Reduce overall energy consumption.
  • Improve waste management

CSR PARTNERS /STAKE HOLDERS

We appreciate National Forest Authority (NFA), from time to time, they have donated to us seedlings and under the Community Tree Project. We also would like to appreciate the support of Pearl of Africa Vacations, Visit EAC Safaris, and Trinity Communications Network for the financial support whenever need arises.

Besides schools, we have also worked Churches, Urban Authorities, Hospitals, Police to generally increase urban tree cover, and improve on urban environment health.

In light of the above, over the years, we have donated free tree seedlings to Schools under the Green Schools project, for more details visit our facebook page to view our activities at Click Here
